Not the best start to the week.

Not only have we lost our funding for our freshwater pearl mussel project from niea due to budget cuts but now some mindless vandals have smashed up the walkway in the Glen behind the hatchery. Why? They clearly don't share our love for the environment. So how do the team respond...well...We keep calm and carry on.

Opening new river school.

Ballinderry Rivers Trust’s newly refurbished River School has been officially opened by the Minister for the Environment, Mark H Durkan MLA.

The River School has been designed to educate everyone on the importance of our freshwater environment and the rare and precious animals and plants that depend upon it.

Refurbishments have just been completed as part of a wider £450,000 project being delivered by the Trust and funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and the Northern Ireland Environment Agency.
